The blazing sun of Morocco is the setting for the new Etro advertising campaign. Illuminating, brightening, blurring the outlines and emphasizing the colours, it reclines on the fabrics to leave them lustrous or gives substance to the sobriety of positive-negatives. The men’s and women’s summer collections fall into step, blending into each other, highlighting their similarities, letting the Paisley motif take centre stage in a slow unfolding of brilliant colours that, from their neutral, almost whispered starting point, develop into joyous bursts of colour. And so the polka dot outfit worn with the Paisley fabric shirt accompanies the suit with graphic details, while the macro prints of the women’s ensembles seek out the bright colours of the men’s trousers, held at bay by the neutral shade of the jacket but supported by the gradated nuances of the scarf. The nude merlons of the terrace intensify the vibrancy of the colours, melding with the more decisive colour palettes or contrasting with black and white, the accomplices of the collections’ tribal accents pervaded by sudden motes of happiness.
