Between wandering through a freezing Central Park, ice skating at Rockefeller center (it was so worth the wait) and visiting a few of the 224 galleries in the new gallery scene around the Lower East Side and Chinatown I’m totally exhausted yet completely inspired. ...
I spent one morning at Zibetto on 6th, sipping on espresso whilst savoring the NY Times and some quality time with my sketchbook before heading over to MoMa (in addition to the permanent collection, the Francis Picabia exhibition was divine). I can’t wait to get back to the studio to start getting some of the concepts I’ve come up with during this visit down on canvas.
Thanks for reminding me to bring just the basics, because, as you said, “I know you will not resist the siren song of shopping in NYC,” and oh how right you were… I went to visit the Etro boutique on Greene Street and ended up leaving with a gorgeous geometric cashmere scarf for my sister, a paisley toiletry bag for my dad, an ornament for my mom and a souvenir for you too…
See you so soon,
