Etro’s tradition flourishes amongst Paisley palms born out of ancient Mesopotamia, where the much loved motif symbolized the seed of the date palm and ultimately the tree of life. From handmade decorations on precious Indian textiles to the modern day, the palm has bloomed over time. Taking inspiration from the family collection of nineteenth century shawls, Etro began to experiment with the classical floral pattern. In 1984 technological exploration and daring research combined, making Paisley the ultimate leitmotif of all subsequent collections: accented by moon prints and a flash of colour, in decorate embroideries or embossed onto elegant handbags.
