Etro speaks with Laura Baiu of #TheCircleOfPoets
Name: Laura Baiu
Born in: Adancata, Italy
Based in: Turin, Italy
A union of passion, inspiration and creativity. I’ve been fascinated with the brand since when I first saw an Etro advertisement in a magazine in the '90s.
Etro is Play… which elements do you like to play with in the creation of your works?
Play is the base of my work. I started Progetto Mundi in 2010 with the idea of enjoying the freedom and beauty that playing in the world offers you. After working with black and white, I'm going to use colour, collage and assemblage. I would like to make the transition from 2D to 3D.
Etro is Colour… if you could be any colour, which would you be and why?
I would like to be green because it signifies hope, "the last frontier" that should never be cut down. Hope gives us trust, trust gives us strength, strength gives us freedom and freedom gives us wings.
Etro is Travel… if you were to travel to any place real or imagined place in the world to spark new ideas for your art, where would you go?
I always choose Italy for the inspiration it offers me. It is the perfect place for me. As for an imaginary journey I think I would go to a period at some point between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Etro is Nature… if you could be any animal, which would you be and why?
My favorite animal is a horse for its elegance, grace and beauty.
